C-L-O-S-E Call

OH MY GOSH...what a CRAZY 24 hours it has been!!!!!!!!!!! Reags and I came to Winston on Monday, kind of a last minute decision. We hung out, had dinner with some friends, played mini golf, and found out some news on Keith's job...

On Tuesday afternoon Keith called me from work and said, "well I have some news about my job. There is a position open in Raleigh that is a good position and there is the perfect position available in WEST VIRGINIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" WOW! Keith was told he had until Thursday to make his decision...holy crap! After LOTS of talking, weighing pros and cons, thinking about life in West Virgina...I have to admit we were leaning towards the move. What I kept telling Keith was that he didn't just bust it in school for 2 1/2 years and he isn't living away from home for 6 months to take a job that he isn't 100% about.

What basically made our decision for us (both were good jobs, but advancement potential MIGHT be a little faster in West Virginia) was how much we would lose on our house! BB&T wasn't going to cover realtor fees since Keith was just graduating from the program and we would lose more than I made teaching in a year on our house! We just can't take a loss like that, obviously. So we decided tonight that we'll stay in Raleigh, keep our house, and try to live a "normal" life where my husband lives at home and is home most nights during the week. What a concept! :)

I have to say I spent Reagan's nap time today looking up Wheeling, West Virginia, what to do there, houses, public schools, if there was a Target close by...you know the important things. It wasn't meant to be though because the closest Ann Taylor Loft was 47 miles away...that is obsurd!! :)

Needless to say we both feel like a thousand tons have been lifted off of our shoulders...and we are so happy to be staying in Raleigh! Keith will work downtown, which he is excited about. It is a great opportunity for him and totally deserves this!

Mini Golfing Outing

Tonight we took Reagan mini-golfing with us as part of a charity event for the United Way! We had a great time and Reags was a good luck charm! I started off playing with her in the Baby Bjorn and then Casey came, who just LOVES being around his "buddy."

It was a chilly night, but Reags was in one of her adorable new outfits from Mum-Mum and stayed plenty warm! She was a HUGE hit, of course, in her bow! :)

Already a hit with the boys!

Right at the end of our game she started to fuss just a little, and we were pushing her bedtime, so it was time to go. We had a great time though and it was a fun little night out!

Yes...I'm Big!

On Sunday Keith was giving Reagan her bottle and she decided she was big and wanted to hold it herself!! So cute :) She really can't totally hold it herself yet, but it was still pretty darn cute!

Little Protector!

Bailey has been one jealous little guy lately...this "thing" has really started sucking up a lot of the attention that used to be all his! (I promise he is BY NO MEANS a deprived dog!!) He is too cute though because as jealous as he may be of Reagan, he sure does protect her. I put her in her Boppy seat while I was making her bottle the other day and found Bailey right next to her, making sure his sister was doing okay. (By the way Reagan LOVES to watch TV!! It's hilarious! We put on Noggin for her and she loves it...and football! I don't plop her in front of the tv all day, but I think it's pretty cute that she is so enthralled by it!) He does love her and is so gentle around her, but still wishes he was the baby of the family I think!

Kepplinger Girls New Dos!

It was just time for a change in the hair department...there is something about fall that makes me want SHORT hair! Who knows why?? Anyway...I had an appointment on Thursday with my hair guy and I told him I was ready for a CHOP! He said, "are you sure?" I know exactly why he said that too...my chubby face! Oh well...I don't care how chubby it makes my face look...it's easier!!

Reagan also has a new "hair style." haha! I bought these handmade headbands online for her and put clip on bows through the headband...I think they are pretty cute!! I never thought I would go for the big bow look on her, atleast while she still doesn't have any hair, but I just couldn't resist!! Watch out...you will start seeing lots of bows on this little girl! (I think I got sick of people saying HE too...even in all pink!!)

Visitors!

On Friday afternoon my mom and John came to visit Reagan, maybe Keith and I too! :) When they got here, the first thing my mom did was give me the SHOPPING BAG full of adorable outfits she had gotten for Reagan. I swear it was atleast 15!!! Reagan will have a different holiday outfit for each day in the month of December, so I'll have to do a daily post of her then in her different outfits! So cute!!

Friday night we just hung out and played with Reags waiting for Keith to get home. Reaggie was ready for bed and we were all not too far behind her! On Saturday morning my mom and I went shopping and then Keith and I had to head to a funeral. (A sweet older neighbor of ours died a couple weeks ago, she was such a sweet woman. It was so sad and your heart just breaks for her husband and family...) Once we got back we went to none other than Shucker's for dinner! (We LOVE having a good restaurant so close by!) Sunday was a hang out/shopping day followed by a yummy dinner before Keith had to hit the road for Winston.

My mom and John left this morning and it is always sad to see family go. They were BEYOND generous to sweet Reags!!! She is, I know I've said this before, soooo spoiled, but in the very best way!! :)

Happy Fall!!

Happy Fall Y'All!

It's here...my favorite time of year!! While I do love how it stays light longer over the summer, I do love the darkness of the nighttime in fall...it means Christmas is just around the corner! Fall means that Reagan will be getting baptized, Reagan will have her first Halloween and Thanksving, and Keith and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary!

Sweetness

I knew I would love being a Mom...I knew it, have always loved kids, always knew I wanted a baby, but MY GOODNESS, I never knew it would be this wonderful! I try to enjoy every day as much as possible...every little laugh, smile, spit up, diaper change...you name it, I just love having a little baby girl! As convinced as I was that I was going to be the mommy of a little boy, I can't even imagine not being the mommy to my little angel girl. Reagan has the best personality and is so happy 99% of the time, we are so lucky! I just can't believe she is already over three months old!! Where does the time go?!?

Movin' On Up!

With Reagan now being over three months and the beginning of fall just a couple days away, closet clean out was in full effect this weekend! Reagan can still fit in SOME of her 3 month outfits, but is fitting more comfortably in her 3-6. Now this is something we don't have hardly ANY of, so darn, Momma has had to do a little "budget friendly" shopping. She has several very cute outfits for the fall and hopefully they last until about Christmas, we shall see! That way Santa can bring her lots of 6-9 month outfits!! :) This time of year is my favorite, but it is hard to dress the little one because it is chilly in the morning, warm in the afternoon....so short sleeves and long pants, which I just don't have much of for her! Anyway, it is hard to believe she is already fitting into those 3-6 month outfits that, at one time, looked so big to me! There was no way my baby girl was ever going to fit into those! :)

Push It...

I'm not sure why I found this so hilarious, but it CRACKED me up!! I put Reagan on the floor on Friday with her Boppy pillow...little miss does NOT like tummy time, as I have stated several times...so I thought we'd put a new spin on it! :) Well as you can see she pushed her way over her Boppy pillow and lands right on her head! It is HILARIOUS to watch...I love it! :)

PS...Sorry for lack of posting this week...really not a lot to report! :)

Chatty Cathy...Part 2!

Tonight I caught Reagan in quite the chatty mood! This post is taking FOREVER because of all 3 videos, but they were each too cute to not put up! I love hearing Reagan chat...I'm sure one day I will want her to just be quiet, but for now, I love the talking!!

This one is short, promise, just showing off the grabbing skills!

This was too cute to me...I love hearing Reagan's laugh! Is there a sweeter sound than a baby laughing? I don't think so!!

E-A-G-L-E-S!!

What a way to start the football season EAGLES!!!! For Christmas my dad got Reagan a little Eagles onsie with a hat and footies and it was finally worn today! I know she looks like a boy...haha...I am going to have to invest in a "girly" Eagles outfit for her, but you know what it seemed to have been the good luck charm the Eagles needed today!

Keith watching the game with "the kids!"

Crab Shack

Last night we went out to dinner with the Davis' and the Buzans! It was a lot of fun...we went to a "Crab Shack" in Wake Forest. Jessica was the lone brave one to get the all you can eat crabs, she worked and worked and got a whole 3 butter cups worth of crab!

Shake, Rattle, and Roll!

On Friday night Reagan decided she wanted to hold her rattle. She is grabbing like crazy these days...I even wear my hair up most days, not just because I don't feel like blowing it dry and straightening, but also because little miss pulls on it!! I gave her the soccer ball rattle first and she actually held it! I know this video is not exciting, and please turn your volume way down! haha...it's so embarassing hearing yourself talk "baby talk," but I guess we are all guilty as charged!!

After the soccer ball rattle lost its excitement, Reagan was onto her keys! (I have a video for that too, but they take FOREVER to upload, plus it too is not the most exciting one! So a picture will just have to do!)

3 Month Pics!

(not sure why there is a blueish background, it was white!)

Here are my famous, pictures of the pictures! haha :) They aren't the best quality, but you get the idea. We thought it was classic that the girl who hates being on her tummy, took the best pictures on her tummy!

3 Months Old!

Today is Miss Reagan Mae's 3 month birthday! She started the day off BEAUTIFULLY by not waking up ONCE in the middle of the night!! She slept straight from 7:45 until 6:45!! We were SOOOO happy! :) After playing for a little while she took her morning snooze and then it was off to have her pictures taken. Poor thing was about ready for another "cat nap" by the time her pictures were being done and kind of had a meltdown, but we got a couple cute shots! (Obviously those are to come...I need to do my standard take the picture of the picture..haha!) We tooled around the mall for a little bit and then it was home for a nap. Hard to believe only 9 more "monthly" updates and she will be ONE!!

Halloween Costume Vote!

Now that it is September, it is about time to start thinking about Reagan's Halloween costume. Keith is already excited to take her trick or treating, well to a few houses anyway! :) So the vote is on for a lady bug, bumble bee, or chicken. I can not guarantee the "winner" will be "the one," but chances are I will go with the one with the most votes!! :) Happy Voting!

Big Girl!

Reags was sitting in her Bumbo today and I just couldn't help but snap a couple shots! She is getting so big and is really holding up that head well. :)

Chatty Cathy!

Yesterday Reagan was on her play mat, her favorite, and was just chatting away! She loves the little sunshine at the top that lights up. My camera cut me off, but in 12 seconds you get the gist...she is a talker!! :)

Go Pack!

Tonight is the home opener for the Wolfpack, Keith's MBA alma-mater, and of course I HAD to put Reagan is some of her NC State gear! Keith had me send a picture on his phone of his Wolfpack baby! Little biased I know, but I think she is pretty cute! Oh...the make shift bow is taped in her hair!! You gotta do what you gotta do! GO PACK!! (To all my Carolina fan friends, you have to admit she looks good in red, but Carolina blue might be EVEN PRETTIER!!)

Feeling Guilty...

So I was talking to my Gran tonight, who called to see if I got any more sleep last night, and told her that I was feeling guilty about my blog post yesterday...I feel like I made it sound so negative! Reagan is such a GREAT baby!! She really is so happy, peaceful, sweet, and wonderful!! The ONLY thing that I would love to get better is the sleeping through the night...I am so lucky though because it's not like I have to be at work in the morning, so I shouldn't complain. Thank you so much for the comments and emails on tips/suggestions, I really appreciate it!

I spent a lot of time today, while Reags was napping, researching what to do! I did come across some of the BabyWise tips, which I know some friends have used. One of their big things is "E.A.S.Y." (eat.activity.sleep.you time) After I read that today it was time for Reagan to eat, I gave her the bottle, we played for about 45 minutes and then I put her down. She laughed for a little while and talked, but then was out! Not surprising though because she is a great late morning/early afternoon napper.

Tonight I gave her a bath, gave her her bottle, which she didn't drink all of, and was out! I read that at her age they should be drinking about 32 oz. a day...I wrote down all of her feedings, including the 3:15am one, and she was right at 32oz! Now I somehow have to get her off of that middle of the night feeding...I know it will happen in due time! She isn't even 3 months old yet, well will be in 2 days! :)

Again, thank you for the tips! She is snoozing soundly right now and I think I am going to go lie down myself!

OH...speaking of sleeping...I went out and bought Reagan 6 month pajamas today...her 3 monthers were getting way too short for her! Such a big girl !:)

Sleeping??

So I need some advice fellow moms...SLEEPING! Reagan was doing SOO great she started sleeping through the night about 3 weeks ago and it lasted for 2 weeks. We were in PA last week and she was waking up in the middle of the night and I figured it was probably because we were in different surroundings. Well she still will NOT sleep through the night...some nights she is even wanting to eat 6 ozs!! Could it be a growth spurt?! What do you think?

I feel like I am a bad mom because I can't get her on any kind of "schedule." I know she is still so little, but it's hard having an unpredictable sleeper. Not to mention I can NOT go back to sleep after she wakes up in the middle of the night so I am one sleepy momma!

Any tips would be great! (I type this as she is snoozing away! She fell asleep in my arms at about 11:15 and has been sleeping since...feedings are all out of whack now for the day! Oh well...)
