Reminiscing...

I have found that over the past several days I have been constantly thinking about "this time last year."  ha!  I miss being pregnant, but not when I was at this stage in the game!  How was my tummy THAT big!?!?

I can't believe I didn't know if I was having a boy or a girl...I didn't know what contractions would feel like...I didn't know what pushing for 2 1/2 hours would feel like...and I had NO IDEA the love that I would feel for my sweet little baby!!  I just can't believe it's been a year, well just about...

One week from today will be my Reagan's birthday and I just don't know where the time went.  Part of me feels like it has been longer than a year, but most of me feels like it was yesterday that she was born.  I have been doing some things with her pictures from over the year for her party and I just cry looking through them.  I look at how she fit in one arm, how she was just so little...and now such a "big" girl!!

She has changed sooo much over this past year...I can't stop thinking about it!  That is all for now, I will do plenty more reminiscing this week!! :)

Calling All Shoppers

Today is one of those days, where I really can, just about, have a "Wordless Wednesday!"  The pictures pretty much tell you about our day, except that we met Liam at the park to celebrate his first birthday before he goes to New York to be with all of his family.  Can I just mention that Reagan and I TOTALLY matched today and I HONESTLY didn't plan it!!  I  got myself ready while she was napping this morning and put on pink shorts and a white shirt.  When she woke up I had to quickly get her ready and put on her adorable monogrammed onesie from Aunt Ellen and a little pink skirt.  After I had her dressed I realized we were TWINS, but we did not have time for an outfit change...haha!  Overall it was just a GREAT day with my ALMOST ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Shopping with TWO purses! :)

Holding the purse and looking at a catalog.

Helping Mommy bake cookies for our new neighbors! (Yes, with her purse!)

I turned the oven light on and Reags was fascinated watching the cookies!
(Well for about 15 seconds anyway!)

We borrowed this toy from the Mills and Reagan LOVES it!!   It was entertainment last night, this afternoon, and tonight!  She loves "driving!"  Well more like being pushed along the sidewalk or on the hill and having Mommy or Daddy run next to her!

I JUST LOVE THIS PICTURE!! :)

Hope you had a great day!! Oh and Mom, I will post you a video soon!! :)

Getting Big

Well my baby is not a baby anymore, obviously, but now she faces FRONT in the car!! I kept saying I was going to "follow the rules" and wait until she was one, but guess what...she's close enough!! We had her facing back and in the middle seat which equals a heave ho to get Reags into her car seat. SOO Thursday night I switched her around and she was so cute going to the park on Friday facing front!

We played at the park for awhile, but really she just loves looking at the big kids! She met a little boy and they were dancing and clapping together...it was pretty cute!

Friday night we were brave and decided to go out to dinner with Reaggie. This does NOT happen often just because of her bedtime and it's not so much a relaxing event. This past week was Raleigh's Restaurant Week though and many restaurants have a pre-selected menu of a few appetizers, main courses, and desserts that you choose from. We went to Solas downtown, which we have eaten at before, and it did not disappoint. (oh...when I called to make the reservation I said "2 and a highchair, do you HAVE highchairs?!?!" thankfully they did!) Reags did great at dinner, just a couple squeals here and there!  Since she was the ONLY child there we are hoping we didn't intrupt too many date nights! :)

Have I mentioned before that Reagan likes "going shopping?"  I know surprising as I am her mother, but it is precious!  If you say "Reagan, do you want to go shopping?"  She will get one of her purses and put the handles on her arm and walk around...pretty darn cute!!

Saturday was a busy day of yard sales, swim lessons, Keith golfed, I ran errands, and then went to a friend's party from New Hope. It was so fun!

Today was a hang out day! We went to the grocery store during one of the breaks from the rain and went for a walk this afternoon during another. We just finished some yummy burgers on the grill, which Reagan scarfed down about 3/4 of one!  Keith and Reaggie were just reading in the family room and I think my heart melted.

Hope you all had a great weekend and have a pleasant Monday!! :)

It's All Fun and Games...

Well Reagan, lately, is just an accident waiting to happen! Yesterday we were in the guest room while I was stripping the bed and all of the pillows were on the floor. Reagan thought they were sooo fun to play on! We were having so much fun and she LOVED being tossed on top of the pillows!

Well as the old saying goes, "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt." Bailey jumped up onto the bed and of course Reagan wanted to see him, so she was walking along the bed, lost her balance and hit her cheek on the metal bed frame...ouch! I was sitting right next to her, but it happened so fast! I scooped her up and I didn't see anything at first, but by this morning it was a lovely shade of purple.

Look at that poor face!!  Scrape on the side of the nose, bruised cheek and nose...my poor baby!
To get out of the house today, the weather has been so crappy, we met Katherine and Liam at Jumping Beans for a little play date. The kiddos did not know what to think. It was classic...they just sat there! I told Katherine we were going everyday because Reags hasn't sat that still in a long time! ha! Needless to say they had a lot more fun watching the other kids! :)

Really, they were having a great time! :)  Can't you tell?!?!

Weekend Re-Cap!

Yumm-O!  Momma shared leftover Maggiano's with Reagan for dinner on Friday night, now that is LOVE! :)

This was such a busy, but fun weekend! On Saturday Reagan had swim lessons with Daddy, we played in the pool at Morgan's house, and then we celebrated Parker's first birthday!! It is so hard to believe that he is already a year...I remember, like yesterday, when we went to visit Parker in the hospital...I was about to POP!! Stephanie (and Jeff) did a great job with the party. Reagan LOVED watching Parker open his presents, in fact, she REALLY wanted to help him out. Ha! I guess Reags will have a lot of fun opening her presents at her own birthday party in LESS THAN THREE WEEKS!! Parker got a really cute Thomas riding/push toy and since he isn't quite walking yet, Reagan was letting him ride and she did the pushing. It was pretty cute!

"Helping" Parker figure out his new toy!

Look at that sweet man!!  Love it!

Parker and Reags having a full blown conversation with each other!

Today we did lots of grocery shopping, errands for Reagan's party, and had our wonderful neighbors, the Mills, over for dinner. We started doing Sunday dinners with them a couple months ago and it's fun to do dinner, but it is also sweet to have to cook every other Sunday!! :)

Reagan ready for the grocery store!  Do you see that lovely slice on the side of her nose??  She had a little accident at the Mills yesterday.  Poor baby!!

A) Look at that HAIR!!  Keith said when he got her up from her nap it was total mad scientist hair!  HILARIOUS!!  B) Reagan likes chips now! :)

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Happy Thursday!

Reags and I just got home from lunch with my friend, Carrie and her adorable little one, Cal. We have met a few times for lunch and it's amazing how it gets crazier each time!! The kiddos are precious though and it's always nice to get out with another mommy! :) I have never gotten a picture during lunch, hopefully next time!
This week has been pretty uneventful, just running errands and keeping up with my little speed racer!

Reagan giving every window in our house "kisses."

Looking cute after her morning nap!

Practicing using her "spork" and not understanding why I am taking her picture...

Oh...now I get it Mom, you want me to SMILE! :)

11 Month Pictures!

On Friday I took Reags for her 11 MONTH pictures! I think she looks like such a BIG GIRL in these pictures. I know the quality of the next two is terrible, but as I have done for the past 10 months, taking a picture of my pictures results in that. You get the idea though! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

It was such a great day today :)  It is so hard to believe that one year ago today this was me...

One year later, here is my baby girl and I in front of our magnolia tree!

The day started with the BEST first Mother's Day gift of all...Reaggie slept through the night for the first time in a long time!  It was SO nice!  I woke up a few times in the middle of the night waiting for her to start crying, but thankfully she didn't, and I was able to go right back to sleep!  Keith and Reaggie made me a delicious breakfast and then gave me my gifts of a gift certificate for a pedicure and my JACK ROGERS shoes!!  I was so excited! :)

We hung out the rest of the morning and then went out the lunch at the Carolina Ale House.  Reaggie was a very good girl even though she decided she didn't want to take her morning nap!  (She passed out in the car within a minute of driving home, thankfully still went to sleep when we got home.)

Keith's good friend, David, was in town from Colorado and the boys cooked us a DELICIOUS dinner!  We had filet, crab cakes, potatoes, and grilled corn on the cob....it was GREAT!!

Overall it was a WONDERFUL Mother's Day celebrating with our sweet little girl!  Being a mommy is not the easiest job, but it is the best job in the world!  I felt so thankful all day to have such a precious, healthy, and happy baby girl in our life!

Fun at the Park!

On Saturday we met up with my friend Heather and her two girls, Jess and Colby!  I taught Jess when she was in 2nd grade and she is now about to graduate from elementary school...how did that happen!?  Heather is one of the sweetest parents I have had and I am so glad we keep in touch!
(The pictures are also courtesy of Heather!)

She was kind enough to drive in our direction to go to the park for a picnic and for all the girls to play!  Reaggie had SOO much fun with Jess and Colbs...I sure do wish they lived closer!!

Priceless!

Blow up pool at Wal-mart: $10

Plastic Watering Can: $1

AN HOUR of confinement: PRICELESS!! :)

Today started out as one of "those days" and I was NOT at all looking forward to it. Reagan has been waking up in the middle of the night, sometimes wanting a bottle, and then getting up at 5:30ish. Thankfully at 5:30, most mornings, I can just put her in bed with us and she goes back to sleep for about an hour. (She does and Keith, of course I can't!) This morning she did that and from the moment she woke up at 6:30 until about 8:15 she was SOOOOO FUSSY!! I mean, fussing over everything! What on earth child?!?! Finally I put her down for her nap early and she slept for over an hour! PHEW!!

When she woke up we were off to a make-up swim lesson. I had us all ready to go, we got to the pool, watched a private lesson or two, then her little class was told to get in. I hopped in, put Reagan in, and within TEN SECONDS we are told, "time to get out of the pool!" Someone, well a kid, pooped in the pool!! A) GROSS!!! B) Are you serious?!! Now we are both wet, towels will need to be washed, we smell like chlorine...ugghhh! We went to the locker room, I attempted to change Reagan and her outfit didn't fit, thankfully she had her cover-up to wear and we were off to the house.

I was slightly frustrated, not really, but kinda...it is work to get out of the house that early! :) I pulled in the driveway and I thought you know what, we'll go get our own pool to play in! SO off to Wal-mart we went!

Needless to say the rest of the day was MUCH better than how it started!! Reaggie even slept for about an hour and a half this afternoon, which sadly is a "good" nap now. We had a great day and enjoyed playing in the pool together, and I'm not going to lie...Momma kind of liked getting a little sun too!

Here Mom!

Let me tear through this cabinet for you Momma!
Oh you took the gate down for five minutes, let me climb up the steps!
(Oh and YES, I got a gate!!  It is WONDERFUL!!)

Zoom Zoom!!

And this is why at 8:35, I am just about ready for bed!! :)  Happy almost Friday!!

Eleven Months!!

I can hardly believe that today Reagan is ELEVEN months old!! It is just so hard to believe that a year ago I didn't know if I was having a little boy or girl, even though I would have bet money on a boy! I didn't know how much I would love this baby or how happy that baby would make me!

Well we all know by now, Reagan is into EVERYTHING! She has been so busy this month learning how to walk and climb up the stairs. (She is in fact trying to climb on everything now...every toy...it's funny!) She LOVES to open and close doors and cabinets. I don't have a tupperware cabinet, but she does play with koozies and cookie cutters all the time. I am surprised I don't have an Easter Bunny cutout on my foot by now with how many times I have stepped on it! :)

Other things Reagan has mastered this month...she is GREAT with sign language now!! She does all done, more, and eat. We are working on drink/water now. I love her "communicating" with us! If we aren't giving her what she wants, she is sure to point to whatever it is she wants.

Speaking of pointing, her new found love is with lights and fans. She will point to them everywhere! We were in the post office yesterday and she kept saying "uh, uh, uh" until I finally said, "do you see lights?!" I just had to acknowledge her! :)

Reagan is starting to understand more and more of what we are saying, which I LOVE!!! She knows when we talk about daddy, mommy, and brother (yes, we refer to him as brother Bailey...terrible I know, but it's too cute!). She knows where her head, belly, and toes are and when you ask her to brush her hair, she'll do that too! When Reags is in the bath she is always standing up now and when you ask her to "sit down please" she will do that. I kind of feel like we are training a dog sometimes, but it's so sweet to see how she understands us!!

One of the best new tricks this month though is giving kisses. I LOVE IT!! We will be playing and I will say, "Reaggie, give Mommy a kiss" and a wide open mouth comes right towards me. :) She is such a sweetheart!!

Reagan is TOTALLY off of baby food and we (especially Keith) are counting down the days until no more formula!! She eats pretty much anything we give her, which I LOVE!! Hopefully that stays!

A Few Stats:

Teeth: Reagan is currently working on teeth #7 and 8! She is doing pretty good with them :)

Clothes: Pretty much totally in 18 months now!

Diapers: Just moved up to size 5!

We continue to be so blessed with such a sweet baby! I cannot believe that ONE MONTH from today we will be celebrating Reagan's FIRST birthday. The time has certainly flown by and it just keeps getting better!!

We love you Reagan Mae
SOOOOOOOOOO much!!
