Thankful...

SOO thankful for these two!

During the month of November we talked to Reagan a lot about being thankful and what that meant.  She "got it" pretty early on and I wrote down several of her responses to the daily question of, "Reagan, what are you thankful for today?!"  From a two year old's eyes it was pretty cute :)  Her list included...
* toys
*Ziggy's (where we get pizza on Friday nights)
*TV
*her play kitchen
*her bedroom
*the light in her room (dimmers are a beautiful thing and she likes to have it on just a little at night)

We all have so much to be thankful for!  I don't deserve all that I have, but I am SO grateful and appreciative...God is so good! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

How did Thanksgiving already come and go?  The past week has flown!

We left on Tuesday evening after Keith got home from work.  I had everything packed and ready to go so we could just get in the car and GO.  The car ride was LONG...it was raining, there was traffic, kids had had it, but we made it, eventually.

Wednesday we had a great day with Gran and Gramps who came to my mom's for the day!

busy playing!

Thursday morning we were able to hang out until after naps and then we headed over to my Uncle Gus and Aunt Linda's.  As always, it was a great Thanksgiving, but crazy with two kiddos!

First brother/sister bath together!  (Landon is a slip-per-y little man in the bath!)

SO thankful for this little man!

Watching football...

My little stud with Auntie Em :)

I wanted SO badly to get all the generations with my Grandpa this year...and it worked!  At first Reags wanted NOTHING to do with it, but you'll notice she is holding a little tea set, which was what she wanted to hold in the picture...FINE!

Grandpa with his two great-grandsons, Logan and Landon

Pappy with all three GREAT-grandchildren!

Grandpa with all 8 of his grandchildren

Grandpa with his three kiddos :)

I didn't do Black Friday this year...just too dag gone tired!  Maybe by next year I will have some energy to brave the crowds, but seriously the sales last two days and a lot of times the deals are online too...we'll just have to see about next year!!

Now Christmas preperations are in full swing!!

Little sweetness munching on an apple :)

Tuesday Update :)

Here we go again, another Tuesday update!  I don't know why it is that Tuesdays seem to be the easiest day to update, go figure.

SOOO last Thursday night my best friend from PA, Heather, flew down for a weekend visit.  It was so great to see her!  We started off our fun filled weekend with a haircut for Reagan on Friday and then we went out to lunch.  The kiddos took good naps and we picked up pizza for dinner.

Watching Blue's Clues in the booo-tiful pink car!

Saturday morning Heath and I started our morning bright and early.  I had a haircut appointment at 9:15 and Heath was able to get squeezed in for a chop as well.  She got a LOT of hair cut off and it looks sooo cute!!  Seriously, I think 11ish inches got cut off...love it!  Then we headed to a craft show, to outlets, and out to dinner.  We left the house at 9:00am and got home around 9:30pm...long day, but so fun!

On Sunday we pulled out the Christmas decorations and started getting the house all decorated!  Sunday night Reagan and I had a date night to see the Rockettes.  It was sooo much fun!  I was so thrilled to get to take her.  Growing up we went to New York City several times to see the show and I have such great memories of seeing those girls kick their legs :)  I thought Reagan would love it and hoped she would sit through the show...thankfully she did and loved it!  We were going to go out to dinner, but she "no want to go to a restaurant."  ha!  We went to McDonald's and that actually worked out better.  She ate outside of the DPAC before the show started and was able to run around a little bit, get out some energy!

all dressed up and ready to go!
Keith took Heath to the airport while Reags and I were off to the show!

Waiting for the Rockettes to come out!

Such a big girl, reading the "book" during intermission!

I seriously had tears in my eyes watching her enjoy the show.  It was such a fun night and a tradition I hope we can continue to have!!

Monday morning Reags was off to school and Bubby and I had a few errands to run, decorating to finish, and packing for PA to do!

This little cutie makes my heart melt!!

We are safely in PA now for Thanksgiving after a LONG car ride.  SO thankful to be out of the car, SO thankful for great family and friends, and SO thankful for our sweet, sweet babies!!

What's Been Going On

Happy Tuesday!  I seem to be on this trend of updating on Tuesdays...our house has been hit with the cold and cough, so there hasn't been a lot of time for blogging, or sleeping, lately!

Last Wednesday Reagan had school and Landon and I had a few errands to run around town.  It was so nice out that we went to the park and I walked for awhile while LTK slept.  Keith was able to pick up Reaggie at school, so I was able to pick up and clean around the house to get ready for Keith's sister to come on Thursday night.

Thursday morning we went to Jumping Beans, an inflatable playhouse place, with two of Reagan's friends from school.  The girls had a BLAST together!  It was precious!!  I didn't take ONE picture though, can you believe it?!!  The moms got to chat, the girls got to play and eat pizza...it was a good day!  (However, we aren't going back there for a long time...I am CONVINCED that is where Reagan and Landon got this cold/cough...last year Keith had taken Reagan and days later she had croupe.  Do you think they ever clean those things?!?!)  That night, I picked up Kristin from the airport and we went out for a couple drinks...it was very fun to get out.  Seriously, the last time I drove in the dark...I don't know.  (I know, I need to get out more!)

Friday was Veteran's Day and also a day off for Keith.  We hung out in the morning, went out to lunch, and Kristin and I did some shopping during nap time.  That night Keith had box seats for the NC State home opener, so we were able to go to that.  We had a blast!!  I might have had a little too much fun ;)

could you not just eat him?!

Reags and Aunt Kristin

Go Pack!

Saturday Kristin, Landon, and I went out to lunch while Keith and Reags had a playdate with Parker and Jeff.  Those kids are a little too cute together!  Keith and Kristin were able to get out that afternoon for pedicures (yes, Keith too!) and wine tasting.  They had a great time together, but doesn't it figure the kids didn't nap because it was me home and not their daddy?!?

Getting pampered...and don't tell, but he loved it!

Sunday was pretty lazy, just grocery shopping...wooohoo!  We made a nice dinner though and had homemade apple pie for dessert :)

Big News!  The Jumperoo is back out...

...and someone looks too big in it!

Sunday night Dora Saves the Snow Princess was on so Reagan had to wear Dora jammies, Dora slippers, and she got her Dora and Boots to watch with her...pretty cute!

Monday morning we were up and at em to take Reags to school and Kristin to the airport.  (Sunday night was pretty much a sleepless night...)  On our way to school Reagan was coughing and (sorry if TMI) she threw up mucusy stuff from her throat.  Lovely!  I cleaned her up, called school to let them know she wouldn't be there, came home to change her, and THEN we were off the airport.  There was little napping done around here yesterday, which made for a long day, but the kids were pretty happy, until the bewitching hour of about 6:00...HOLY, I thought I was going to loose it with a certain two year old!  We were ALL exhausted by 7 though, that is for sure!  I was in bed by 8:30 last night...am I fun or what?!

We went to the park this morning for awhile, since we are having very warm weather, and figured the fresh air would do us all good!  Landon fell asleep at the park and Reagan went down for her nap early.  Hopefully a good nappy will help my babies feel ALL better!

Playing on the "really, really big rock!"

Swinging...I think she officially thinks she is too big for this swing, kind of sad!

Evening Update:  I wound up taking Reagan to the doctor this afternoon just for my piece of mind.  Turns out her ear was pretty pink with some fluid in it and the doctor gave us an antibiotic to get this mess out of her system!  Thank goodness!  So a lovely afternoon was spent schleping two kids to the doctor, pet store for dog food, Harris Teeter for popsicles (did I mention all FOUR of Reagan's 2 year molars are coming in?!), and then to Walgreens for the prescription.  :)  Now it's 8:13 which means I am about to head to bed!

Leaves, Drool, and Soccer...oh my!

I have gotten a little behind in the blogging world...nothing too terribly exciting to report, but staying VERY busy with my two little guys, sometimes three if you count their daddy. ;)  (on a side note...today the Duggars announced they are having baby number TWENTY...TWENTY!!!  How in the living world does she do it?!?!?!!?  I just think it's crazy...I LOVE my babies to pieces, but seriously, this momma can hardly think about having another one right now...let alone 18 more!)

Reagan getting her shoes on all by herself before school last Wednesday!

do you see the drool on this kid?  Oh MY Word!  I don't even want to think about what teething will be like!

Reags and I before school, last Wednesday was the last of my volunteer days for the month.

Last Thursday we took Landon for his three month pictures.  They turned out pretty cute, I should have them on Monday!  Both kids did great. :)

This past weekend was pretty low key, I think.  To be honest I don't really remember...we did go to a little "fall fest" in our town on Saturday morning, which was cute, but we didn't stay too long because the wind was pretty chilly and it was cash only, so the $3 Keith had didn't get us too far! :)  Reags enjoyed the boune houses and huge slide though...she even got to sit in a fire truck!  I snuck out to run a few errands on Saturday and Sunday was a total hang out day.  Reags stayed in her pjs all day!

Sweetness, getting just a little too big!

Keith raked up some leaves on Sunday afternoon for Reagan to play in...she had so much fun!  Oh and for the record, Sunday was the LONGEST day EVER!!!!  That extra hour felt like 10, especially because little guys don't understand "sleep in." :)

This is only the beginning of Reagan and Keith playing soccer in the backyard

Yesterday RMK had school and Landon and I ran errands the whole time, we were both exhausted.  Landon fell asleep in the car on our way home from picking up Reagan so I just left him in the car, with a door open to sleep.  I kept going out to check on him, literally every 5 minutes.  Well one of the times I slipped on our steps and banged my back pretty hard on the steps and thankfully stopped myself with my hands.  It hurt, for sure, but I didn't think too much of it...I was just hoping my thud didn't wake up Landon.  Last night my back hurt a little, but again, didn't think too much about it.  Let's just say this morning I had a little scare and I was off to the doctor, so Keith was in charge (thank goodness he was working close by!).  Everything is totally fine, THANK GOD, but I came home to this little princess...

About 5 minutes later I was putting her down for her nap and we had a MELTDOWN about where her babies should sleep in her bed and the fact that her crown was falling off and her earring wouldn't stay in...oh my!

This little man will NOT take a long nap (or sleep through the night, but that is for another day)...I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  I keep telling myself all babies are different, since Reagan took two great long naps by this age, Landon just takes little 45 minute to an hour naps throughout the day.  As long as he is happy though, that is all that matters for now.  I'm not going to lie though and say I would enjoy being able to count on a couple good naps!

...and this is what Landon has to say!

Must Try Recipes

Here are a couple of my new fall favorites...you MUST try!! :)

Apple Crumble Bars (addicting!!)
Crust
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 t. salt

Filling
3 1/2 cups apple pie filling (or 2 cans...I used Comstock I think)

Crumble
1 cup flour
1 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
10 Tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces

1.  Heat oven to 375*.  Grease 13x9 inch pan.  In large bowl beat crust ingredients with electric mixer on low until mixture looks like course crumbs.  Press in pan.

2.  Bake 15 minutes or until golden and let cool 30 minutes.  Reduce oven temperature to 350*.

3.  Spoon pie filling over crust.  In medium bowl mix crumble ingredients together, except the butter.  Add butter and mix with a fork.  (Works best to coat the pieces of butter with the other ingredients in the bowl)  Sprinkle mixture over filling, press lightly.

4.  Bake 40 minutes or until light brown.  Cool completely, about 2 hours.  Cut and ENJOY!!!!!

I'll leave out the nutrition information so you can enjoy them more ;)

EASY Pumpkin Muffins  (SERIOUSLY...)

**my favorite pumpkin muffin/bread recipe is Ellen's...SO good!!  However, when short on time, this works great too!**

1 box of spice cake mix
1 15 oz. can pumpkin

THAT'S IT!  I read this on a blog and thought there was no way it could be good, but they are!!  I also added some chocolate chips, which made them that much more delish!

3 Months!

Our sweet Landon man is three months old today!  He is just getting so big, I can't believe it!

Let's see...Landon's latest tricks are laughing, talking up a storm, grabbing at everything, always wanting his hands in his mouth, and he is still trying to pull himself up from laying down.  He has also started watching tv, poor guy is going to love some Kai Lan and Dora! :)

I am officially finished breastfeeding...part of me misses it, another part of me feels relieved that it's over.  Bottles are so easy!  He eats 5 or 6 bottles a day (depending on if he is up in the middle of the night) and eats 4-6 oz. per bottle.

We are not on too much of a schedule yet, but hopefully by next month!?  I feel like he has a couple depending on what time he wakes up in the morning, which is determined by how he slept the night before.  He takes a good morning nap, usually between 9 and 10.  He'll sleep in the afternoon and then needs a little evening nap between 5:30 and 6, not for very long though.  He is usually in bed between 8 and 9.  He is inconsistently sleeping through the night...he'll do it a couple nights in a row and then be up for a few nights.  The hardest part about getting up in the middle of the night is that I can't get back to sleep.  It's SO annoying!!  I have even started just counting in my head to get myself to sleep!

I don't know how much LTK weights, he's got to be pushing 18 pounds I would think.  My big man!  He is still wearing SOME 6 month clothes, but we are mostly onto 6-9 and 9 month outfits.  He is still in size 2 diapers.

You're kidding...I'm 3 months old already!?

This was our first attempt, he fell asleep about 2 mintues after this picture was taken!

That smile...sweetness!

Landon man is just such a sweetheart!  We love him to pieces and he puts up with lots of noise and "love" from his big sister.  :)  This age is so fun and it's always fun to see all the new changes that will come in the next month!

We love you Bubby!!

Happy Halloween!

Another Halloween has come and gone and now it's NOVEMBER!  Crazy huh?!  Are you ready for Christmas!?!?  :)

Sunday afternoon was pumpkin carving time and Reagan really wanted NOTHING to do with it!  She was perfectly fine just watching Mommy and Daddy do the dirty work.  She had said she wanted a Dora pumpkin, so we printed off a template from Nick Jr.com and Keith worked so hard on it, and it looked great!  Once Reagan saw it, she decided she didn't like it anymore and wanted Minnie Mouse...isn't that just the way it goes?!  Another last minute change was her costume.  She had found a lovely purple butterfly princess costume in a magazine over a month ago that she was insistent upon being for Halloween.  I wound up getting it from Kohl's because IF I needed to return it for some reason, atleast I could with no problem (and I love Kohl's and they always have a great coupon!).  Don't you know last week she announced she was going to be Sleeping Beauty.  Worked out well because she has the dress, Gran bought her a pink crown, and I did get her some pink glittery shoes from Target to go with the dress.  She was happy as can be and really isn't that what Halloween is all about?! :)
pumpkin carving...obviously casual Sunday!

the closest she would get to getting the "gunky" out

so excited! :)

Halloween morning we were on our way to preschool.  This is my volunteer week and it was my snack day, so being the dorky mom that I am, I was pretty excited.  We had a fun day at preschool and all the little girls had on the cutest Halloween outfits.  (Aunt Ellen, we need to send your name to the mom's of the boys!  ha!)  Thankfully my mom and Gran were still here so they stayed home with Landon man while Reags and I went to school!

After naps it was time to get ready for dinner and getting dressed.  Sadly, it was POURING rain outside...literally pouring.  We did manage to trick or treat to the houses on our little hill, which thankfully Reagan was thrilled to do.  She was so sweet in holding out her little treat bag and saying "trick or treat" and very politely said "thank you" after being given the candy.  When we got home she was more than happy handing out the candy, except she did not like the big kids that had scary costumes.  I had to warn her if there was a scary mask costume before she would give out the candy...bless her.

Here comes Sleeping Beauty!!!

Oh yeah, I'm beautiful!

this IS Reagan and sweet little Bubby

The cutest little tiger around!

Such a beautiful princess

and so the family shots with a 2 year old go...I'm already excited for a Christmas card picture (sarcasm)

...that's a little better!

Landon and Reagan's pumpkins (Reagan wanted to use her VERY bumpy pumkin that we got last weekend at the pumpkin patch...whatever, it has character!)

As you can see Daddy pulled through and made a Minnie/Mickey Mouse pumpkin.  I guess that was Keith's, I was Dora this year, and our standard Bailey bone!

So fun in the rain!

checking out her loot!

I think my sweet daughter takes after her mother...she organized all of her candy into piles, on her own.

Even with the rain it was a great Halloween!  We didn't get nearly as many trick or treaters as usual, which sadly means I have a few extra bags of candy...oh well, tis the season!
