"Whaley" Fun Day!

On Saturday the 4th we had Landon's FIRST birthday party!  It was such a fun afternoon!

The birthday boy playing with a balloon...he had way too much fun with it!

Mommy and Daddy with our favorite little 1 year old!

Mum-Mum and Pop-Pop

Gigi and Gramps

Work it Landy...

Handsome man in yet another precious Aunt Ellen original!

Playing and busy, per usual :)

Getting ready for the cake!  For Reagan's 1st birthday I got her a smash cake and she didn't touch it, SO this time around KNOWING Landon would eat it all, we just opted for a cupcake :)

Parker helping get Landon man ready!

Family shot...I think I loved Landon's precious bib a little more than he did Auntie Ellen!

YUMMY!

Sweet "baby" Evie!

Presents time!

Landon had lots of help from some of the bigger kids!

Future football star?!

We had such a great day!  It was so fun, the food was great (and catered=EASY!), cake was tastey, and Landon was exhausted from all the fun!

Here are a few "details" shots from the party...

Landon's 1st BIRTHday!

Thursday morning our big one year old woke up nice and early to celebrate!  (About the same time as we were getting to the hospital last year to begin my induction)

Not totally awake yet!

Yum, Yum...enjoying some pancakes in the shape of a "1" for his birthday breakfast!

Playing with his big birthday gift...pushing it everywhere

Sissy was so excited to celebrate her brother's first birthday!

Yes, he pushes her around on any pushy toy we have...it's too cute!

Showing Reags how it works :)

After Landon's morning nap we had to head to Staples and then Target for a couple things.  That followed a quick trip through the drive through at Chic Fil A for some yummy lunch, Landon's fav!  I was so mad though because when we got home they forgot to put in one of our orders of chicken nuggets...of all days!  It all worked out though and when I called to let them know they said they would send me coupons for lots of free food for our next couple visits...they are awesome that way!

Mom, seriously!?  I'm eating here!

Reagan decided she didn't need a nap and Landon didn't sleep all that long, SO once we were back downstairs it was time to make the cupcakes.  Please note the lovely yellow ribbon ties on the lazy susan. :)

Are they ready yet?

I'll help you Mom!

We played the rest of the afternoon and Keith came home a little early.  We had some breaded chicken, potatoes, corn, and rolls for dinner...some of Landon man's favorites.  After dinner we opened a couple more presents, which all he needed was wrapping paper and he was one happy man!

Sharing with Bailey!

Finally, it was time for a cupcake!!  We KNEW Landon would LOVE it since he has had NO aversion to sweets to date :)  We couldn't wait to see him gobble it up on his own!

Yes, he loved and needed to be dumped in the bath immediately after this!!

It was such a great day celebrating our sweet little man!!  Love you Landy and we hope you had a WONDERFUL day!

12 Months...

...or ONE YEAR!

Thursday, August 2nd Landon man turned ONE!  We had such a great day and it was so fun to think back all day on the "at this time last year..."  Let's just say around 2:30ish I was feeling VERY HAPPY that I was rocking my sweet man in my arms and NOT doing what I was doing last year at that time!

Landon is just such a big boy!  He is really walking more and more EVERY day, which is just so crazy for me to see.  It is just hard to believe!  He walked the whole length of the family room the other day and we were just so proud of him, he started clapping for himself too.

Everything to Landon right now is "da da," well just about everything.  It's pretty funny.  He even says something that sounds like "da-ie" when he is talking to Keith.  He's making plenty of other sounds and does well with his sign language, most of the time :)

I am just SO sick of these pictures Mom!

Landon is a big boy, and has been from the get go.  The kid eats a LOT!  We are already getting a slight glimpse of what the teenage years are going to be like.  I called Keith one day at work and said, "just FYI, I have been feeding your son snacks for the last TWO HOURS!"  Literally :)  I guess since he's not drinking bottles of formula anymore his little tummy needs more food!

Yay!  Something else to destroy!

Is this my good side?

Oh, one thing that is amazing to us is how into EVERYTHING Landon is.  Seriously.  The kid is finding cabinets that Reagan STILL doesn't know about :)  Landon has laser eyes that can see if a baby lock is undone in the kitchen and darts RIGHT for that cabinet.  I have also had to create my own baby lock for the lazy susan that involves lovely yellow ribbons...I was sick of him always eating getting out the oils and was just waiting for him to be covered in flour!!  ...busy, busy man!...

Landon is just so sweet though and he is still taking a morning nap and then an afternoon nap too.  He LOVES his cars, trucks, buses, vans, anything with wheels, blocks in all shapes and sizes, and also any ball he can find!  Needless to say, he is all boy!  Although he does love himself some Dora and princess toys as well! :)

We just can't believe he's one!  Happy, HAPPY Birthday Sweet Landon!  We love you to the moon and back a MILLION times!

Almost One...

I can't believe it's here...my baby is going to be ONE tomorrow....ONE?!  Already!?  I can't even stand it...

Exactly one year ago tonight, this was our family...

And this was my BELLY!...

It is amazing how much can change in a year.  There were nights with Landon that I wondered if I would EVER sleep again.  There were HOURS that I was nursing him wondering if I would ever not have a baby on the boob.  Then there were SO many times that he smiled at me and I melted.  There have been SO many times that he kisses his mommy and loves on me and snuggles me that just make me want to freeze that moment forever.  I always dreamed of having a little boy and he is my wish come true.  (tears are streaming...)

all clean and sporting new jams! (size 2T, just FYI!)

This afternoon, as Landon was WALKING all over the downstairs (10 or 15 steps at a time he would fall and then get right back up) I just couldn't believe that he has been here a YEAR.  This little man, this little baby that grew in my belly, is going to be ONE.  I don't know why I'm so emotional, Reagan did turn one two years ago, but maybe you just feel this with every child...it's another milestone and a BIG one at that!

More on all his new tricks to come, but tomorrow is a day all about our Landon man!  This weekend should be "whaley" fun too ;)  Just a little peak...

Pullen Park Playdate!

On Tuesday we had such a fun playdate with Heather and "baby" Evie!  We went to Pullen Park, which we had never been to before, and it was just so fun!  It was nice and cloudy when we got there, which worked out perfect because it was a little warm.  The kiddos were able to swing/run for a little while before we rode the train (adorable!), the little boats, and the merry go round! (all for a $1 a ride...not too bad!)

Evie wasn't too sure about the train at first, especially since it was totally cramping her walking style!

I got a little sea sick walking around the circle they were riding in making sure Landon didn't make a dive for it...he was loving it!

Mental Note:  Merry go Rounds are just NOT fun when you are older...I swear I thought I was going to vomit!  Reagan LOVED her lion though and was convinced the rest of the afternoon that she needed a pet lion...

We had lunch after the merry go round and still had one ticket left, so the kiddos got to ride the boats one more time!

It was such a nice day and the park is AWESOME!!  We will certainly be going back!
