We had such a fun week last week with Gran and Gramps! They came down last Monday and stayed until Friday. It was SO nice to have company here :)
Reagan couldn't wait to give Gigi her Mother's Day goodies!
of course Landy had to help too!
Tuesday the weather was iffy so we decided it would be a good day to run a couple errands. We went to Target and the kids each got a little treat from Gigi and Gramps. Landon picked out this monster truck that he LOVES...he pushes a button and it says, "let's RUMBLE!!" So now that is his saying when he sees his truck...pretty cute! Reagan got the new Emeraldalicious book, part of the Pinkalicious series, it's too cute! After Target we ran over to the mall to ride a couple rides and the choo choo :)
back of head of child #1
and back of head of child #2...they were far too busy for a picture!
The driver had on a purple shirt with her pink leggings...she picked it out to "match" Gigi that morning...whatever...I'm over arguing about outfits on non-school days. I had bought her this shirt at Gymboree over the weekend and just wanted to try it on her real quick before we ran in the mall and she decided she had to wear it, again over arguing, so that's how this lovely ensamble was created :)
After the mall we went to Panera for lunch, which Reagan requested, and then came on home! That night we decided to go get ice cream after dinner, it was a little chilly out, but the ice cream was still delish!
Landon is slightly obsessed with a "bumpy road" in our neighborhood right now and so now anything with rocks is a "bumpy road!" which is pretty darn exciting!
Wednesday morning I decided to keep Reagan home from school because Monday afternoon she started getting stuffy and did not sleep well at all Monday or Tuesday night, as in up atleast 15 times...throw in Landon getting up a time or two in there as well and I was pretty much a walking zombie :) Anyway, we went out to breakfast Wednesday and ran a few other errands, the kids had haircuts that afternoon too. That night Reagan started coughing a little bit, but I didn't think too much of it. WELL, by 10:30 that cough was a bark and we all know barking equals croup. Lovely! I was actually pretty nervous because she was having some trouble breathing...I KNEW it was the stridor from the croup, but it was still scary. I was a shaky mess calling Keith...she and I wound up sitting in the steamy bathroom for awhile and then she slept on me to keep herself propped up. By Thursday morning I wanted to be the first at the doctor for sick walk ins and even getting there at 8:06 there was already a line. Thankfully Gran and Gramps could watch Landon and I just took R. They gave her a liquid steroid to help with the croup and that stuff is liquid gold...she is even still coughing some, but the change from before and after the steriod was amazing! Of course we had to slip by Harris Teeter on the way home for donuts and she was feeling fine the rest of the day. Thursday night she still slept pretty badly...the coughing just breaks my heart because there is NOTHING you can do!! By Friday night I gave her allergy medicine, rubbed Vicks on her feet, and did a breathing treatment...I was all about doing whatever I could so we could BOTH get some sleep!! Thankfully, she is doing much better now...still a little stuffy and a little cough, but MUCH better!! Needless to say all of that on Thursday changed our fun plans of going to Pullen Park, but it turned out being a nice hang out at home kind of day.
Friday morning I had to make the game time decision of whether we went to Reagan's strawberry patch field trip or not...I am not good at these decision either, ugh! If it was a school day, obviously I would have kept her home, but she had no fever, we would be outside, and she really wanted to go...so we went!
Landon was such a good little picker...he was way more into than Reagan!
She was chowing down on the berries...1 for her box, 4 for her :)
This guy got in on the action too!
Reags and Brooklyn with sweet Miss Carole
All the kids got their strawberries and then some strawberry ice cream too!
Landon polished off his and the majority of Reagan's cup too! Safe to say, he LOVED it!
Gran and Gramps came with us to the patch and were going to leave from there...
(oh and Landon started calling Gramps, Gramps this time and not "mop" anymore...so sad!)
we were all so sad to say good-bye!
Overall it was a great week! We ate meals out, played, hung out, and had a great visit. It's probably one of their last, if not their last, trip to NC so I'm so glad they were able to come!! Thank you Gran and Gramps for a great week!
