December is always SO very busy, but also SO much fun!
On Tuesday the 13th Landon had his field trip to Odessa and Keith was able to work from home that morning (and be on sick baby girl patrol!) so I could go with Landon!
They choose a theme each year and this year it was the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. They transform these gorgeous historic homes into a different story each Christmas. It's just the best!
Landon and his good buddy Max!
working on a Nutcracker craft
Landon's class' tree...all about Brown Bear!
There are 5 boys in Landon's class...here are 4 of them...they are the BEST of buds!
Logan, Austin, Max, and Landon
both kindergarten classes
That night Landon was so excited to a) wear his new jammies from Aunt Ellen!!! and b) give us the Christmas present he made at school.
Reagan shot this picture for me, he made his own Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus...it is just precious and I adore it. Such a special gift!
Thursday morning I had a board meeting (hence my lovely Christmas sweater!) and it was also Reagan's Christmas concert day. I didn't make it to the daytime performance because the baby girl had the yuckiest cold. Oh it was awful. This is pretty much how we spent the rest of the day...baby colds are the WORST!!
That night was Reagan's evening performance. I was SO upset, but I just wasn't able to go. Maddie wasn't feeling well at all and I didn't want to take her out in the FREEZING cold and in a school with even more germs. Keith took Reagan, since I got to see Landon's performance. Thankfully technology is a beautiful thing and Keith was able to FaceTime me for the WHOLE concert, so I was able to see it!
crazy girl before concert time!
The next day, Friday we were up and at 'em and on our way to NYC!!!! (This was also the kids last day of school before Christmas break!) We left my dad's house about a little after 6am and got to the city by 9. We hit NO traffic, which is unheard of! It was a FREEZING day, but we had so much fun! We usually go before the tree is even all lit up, but this time we were able to see the lights. It didn't disappoint!
Our seats for the Rockettes this year were AMAZING! (Thank you Nana!) We were in the 7th row, it was awesome. I have been so fortunate to see this show so many times and each time there is something just a little different and it just gets you right in the Christmas spirit!
no zoom...we were THAT close!
After the show we went to lunch and then stopped in the North Face store. We all walked out with new hats, well except my dad who decided to wear my knit hat with a flower on the side. As Reagan kept saying, he looked like a total creeper :) Needless to say Grandpa got a new hat for Christmas!
Reagan loved the rock wall
We HAPPENED to bring Rebecca Ruben to see if MAYBE she could get her hair done at the American Girl store. Doesn't it figure we got there with NO line and they could take Reagan right away. Needless to say she was a happy girl!
Standing with Lea...she was really hoping Santa would bring her for Christmas!
We happened to walk by Saks right as they were lighting up the building. They did the coolest light show to music. ...it was FREEZING!!!
LOVE NYC at Christmas!
Saturday morning was operation let's bake some cookies and Gigi bread day! I didn't think my kitchen was ever going to be the same again :)
These 2....watching basketball :)
Santa was passing through the neighborhood!
Maddie was SLOWLY starting to feel a little better on Sunday! I had gone out FIRST THING to do a little Christmas shopping and Keith gave all the kids a bath. This was the first time Maddie had clothes on, not just pjs in probably a week. My poor little baby!
I am disgusting...literally hadn't showered in 3 days, but baby girl was being too cute!
Keith took Reagan out for a special afternoon to see the Nutcraker in Wilmington.
just 3 little loves in the bath
storytime at the library with friends after Maddie's flu shot booster
poor girl...no toys :)
this was insanity...I don't deal well with this, but the kids had already been off school for almost a week and craziness was kicking in!!
On our way to the Herr's factory
We met our sweet friends Anna and Brady for a tour and then dinner
we love all the lights they do!
Our first attempt at dinner was the Nottingham Inn, well at 6:30 they had an hour wait, so that wasn't happening. To Wawa we went to get sandwiches and we all ate in our van! It was so "fun" :) It worked and everyone survived...thankfully all of mine fell asleep on the way home too!
