August was such a busy, fun, beach filled, month! Here are some highlights...well a lot of highlights!
We left for the each the end of July...Landon had requested since about March that he REALLY wanted to be at the beach for his birthday, so we made it happen!
Happy happy playing in the ocean!
Overall, Maddie really loved the ocean! She loved the splash in the water...she just really didn't like getting all sandy!
Literally a second before she fell on her tush!
Just so I remember...you'll see me in this swimsuit the whole time because I am the GENIUS that FORGOT my swimsuits!! We were an hour into our drive and I said "OH MY GOSH, I forgot my swimsuits!!" I was so tempted just to drive home that night, but I found this little number at good old Peebles and it did the job. Seriously, who forgets swimsuits for the BEACH!??!
We were running running running and she was just having a BALL!
He wanted to dig down to water and we did it!
The waves were SO rough this day...Reagan LOVED it!! Made me a nervous wreck, but she was having a BLAST!!
water again!
DADDY WON THE RING TOSS!!!
...and he won a freakin' HUGE Squirtle!!
everyone loves some Dippin' Dots!
HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY LANDON!!!
Landon had his day all planned out! We started with a couple presents and then he wanted IHOP for his birthday breakfast...he loves their blueberry syrup!
...then we had to do bikes!
...and stop for a donut because it was his birthday!
...play some minigolf!...
and play a few boardwalk games!
A DS!! Just what this boy wanted!!
He requested a Lunchable for his birthday lunch...could this kid be any easier?!
After a day at the pool the birthday boy had meatballs and mac n' cheese as his dinner of choice!
the girls didn't complain
After dinner the birthday boy wanted to go down to Funland to do some rides. It was pushing Maddie's bedtime and Reagan was tired, so just my boy and I went. We had the BEST time and he even got me on rides that I NEVER do. Sweet time with my favorite little man!
That green blob is Landon...he LOVES this ride and was having himself a good old time
We came home and sang Happy Birthday one last time with black raspberry ice cream...such an easy guy to please!
By the 4th we were home sweet home and off to do a few pics of the kids for their 8th, 6th, and 18 month birthdays! I had to get Madalyn measured on our ruler...she has GROWN!!
having a little donut with breakfast
Reagan did a Trolls dance camp at her dance studio, they sent out the schedule and she was so excited she had to write it all down!
On Saturday, the 6th, we had Landon's friend birthday party at "The Chuck" in the morning and then his family party in the afternoon. So sweet Daddy and Maddie walking in together :)
He wanted us to be Pokémon twins...yes, I will match you whenever you want sweet boy!
EXCITED Birthday Boy!!
Why does she look 4 in this picture?!?!?!?!
Landon chose his buddy from preschook, Brady, to go in the ticket blaster with him because he felt bad that Brady really didn't know anyone else at the party. I was so proud of him and his kind heart.
I was so glad that so many of Landon's friends could make it...summer birthdays are HARD!!
This girl was walking around cleaning everything with a wipie...precious little OCD girl
I think the dads had just as much fun as the kids...they were all challenging each other in basketball
Family party time!
Landon got probably 500 Pokémon cards JUST THAT DAY!! The kid has SOOOOO many cards...it's out of control!!!
Landon requested an ice cream sandwich cake as his party dessert...so so easy and so so goooood!!!
The best we could do for a family pic :)
My sweetest boy...I can't believe he is SIX! Love him so so much.
I call these next several pictures, "The Many Faces of LTK"
While Reagan was in camp this week, we did some fun things to keep everyone occupied. We met our buddies the Troutmans at the park one day.
is this not hysterical!?
I wish these pictures weren't so dark, but she loves to carry around her "bay-beee" (picture that in the highest pitch voice you've ever heard...it's precious)
Earlier in the summer I emailed Reagan's bestest friend's moms about getting together for dinner one night. Reagan was SO missing her friends and with starting at a new school I wanted to have a special night for her. The girls sat at one table and the moms sat at another. They all ordered for themselves and thought they were too cool for school. Such a sweet group of girls...Reagan is missing them so so much.
Kieran, Maliya, Jenna, Macy, McKenna, Aubrey, Margaret, Regan, Jazmin
We finished up our week at Milburn and met Mum-Mum and Pop-Pop there
Maddie had her first hot dog for lunch and reallllly liked the ice cream afterwards!
This cutie had a performance at Dance Camp to wrap up the week. They learned so many dances...I don't know how she remembers it all!
Twinsies :)
JJ and I at her friend Bree's baby shower
Maddie was having a rough morning and just needed some snuggles to calm down...phew...18 months is no joke
Reagan and her friend Macy had a fun sleepover on a Tuesday
To say Madalyn LOVES Landon is an understatement...the girl ADORES him!!
Fun afternoon playdate with some sweet preschool buddies!
At the beach again and ready for dinner to celebrate Mum-Mum's birthday!
...what you don't see in this picture is that Maddie had leaked out of her diaper at dinner all over the side of her dress. Lovely right?! She had pooped on our way to the restaurant and when we got there I realized I was out of diapers in the diaper bag. SOOO she had to sit in it and by the end of dinner she was a mess. I have since loaded the diaper bag with about 10 diapers.
We didn't get Nicola's our first night, but we did our 2nd :)
SOOO the big kids decided they wanted/NEEDED henna tattoos. They were pretty cool, but a MESS and took forever to dry! BOTH kids had to go back to have their design re-done. SO fun though!
Reagan and Elizabeth...NOT Maddie :) Keith's good friend, Mike, and his family were in Rehoboth too. They grew up playing soccer together, since they were about 5!! It was so fun for all the kids to play together!
Landon went with Mike and his boys on the new Super flip 360!! It spins and flips...I had a heart attack...Landon loved it. (Mike flies jets for the Navy, so he is used to all the flipping and flopping)
Grandpa, Nana, and JJ came down for the day on Saturday! The kids LOVE to play with Grandpa in the pool.
Summerhouse fun!
On Sunday Mike's family and our sweet neighbors, the Kortlangs, came to the beach. There was a serious game of soccer going on!
This girl sat in her chair enjoying the scenery...and her toes...NOT touching the sand!
This view...can't get enough of it
Keith and Mike went golfing on Monday, so the kiddos and I ran around that morning and headed to the pool before naptime. They also dined alfresco ;)
Last minute solar eclipse viewing cereal box project
It worked! Was so cool!
We bought glasses on the boardwalk, but Keith was paranoid they were fake and didn't want us to use them at all! Reagan had to atleast model them for us!
Maddie picked out this chair at the grocery store...it has Minnie on it and she LOVES it. The girl loves chairs. You add Minnie and it's the perfect Maddie treat!
One night she was WIDE awake...NO idea why. FINALLY got her to sleep, but holy cow she was crawling all over the place and plopping on the bed...it's a good thing she's cute!
Landon and his swimming have taken OFF this summer. We were SO proud of him!!
water girl!
cutie pie ready to play in the pool
Beach pictures: Attempt #1
...this is your indication as to how well this photo shoot went...
bless her heart
Maddie's screaming and crying...but you can't tell in the picture right?! :)
Our friend, Ashley, came to do some pics, but it was SOO windy. It was a disaster!!!!!
Another Landon series:
my precious girls
After our windy, disastrous attempt at pictures we met Mike's family at Nicola's for dinner and then hit up Funland for a couple rides!
Elizabeth loved Reagan and Reagan LOVED Elizabeth!
doing that 360 flip ride AGAIN!!
I love bringing my camera on the beach to capture the kids...they are just so happy and have so much fun!
It clouded up and started drizzling, so we went in for Maddie's nap. Reagan and I went to the outlets for a little bit and then we came home for photo shoot attempt #2!
those legs kill me!!
We asked some teenagers on the beach to take our pic...not the family beach picture I had in mind, but it's perfect!
Our last morning and we had to go to Royal Treat one last time for the summer. As always, it didn't disappoint!
Maddie saw an Elmo in the store window and said "Buh-by Elm" about 25 times before walking away!
packing up...time to go...boo hooo hooo
We came home on Thursday and Friday were annual physicals for these big kids
She was just happy as could be that it wasn't her turn at the doc!
I had to capture because they were playing so nicely together...a rarity! I had set up the water slide for one last hoorah with it for the summer...they didn't last on it too long.
That Saturday we headed to Clementine Amusement Park with Reagan's Girl Scout troop. The weather couldn't have been nicer!
That Sunday Reagan INSISTED on a hair cut, so before her Girl Scout pool party we went for a quick trim.
That night I took this kid to Walmart to finish up his school supply shopping...he wasn't nearly as excited as Reagan was to make these purchases. ha!
Our last week of summer was slammed packed with last minute fun. We met Heather and her boys at the Herr's factory on Monday...it was kind of a dud, but the kids had fun. This is the first time our hot chips that you get weren't good and the little café was closed, which was going to be our lunch. We both packed some fruit/vegs and some yogurt for the kids, so they ate that and then we got ice cream at the creamery across the street! The kids had a blast together though and that's all that matters!
It wiped EVERYONE out, needless to say I had a VERY peaceful drive home...and I took the LONG way :)
again...why does she look 4?
Tuesday we had friends over for a playdate...Maddie woke up from her nap with a SWOLLEN shut eye. It was the weirdest thing...I took her to the doctor and she said it was probably just a viral thing. She woke up the next day and was fine...thank goodness.
Wednesday I had to have tooth fixed at the dentist, that had chipped at the beach!, and since the office is across the street from Longwood we hit it up. My mom met me and took the kids to Longwood and then I met them over there!
I looked AWFUL that morning, but ran into a friend/sorority sister from COLLEGE!!! I don't think we've seen each other since we graduated!! It was so so fun to run into Kristen!
...Maddie thrilled...
Maddie say CHEEEESE!
Keith and I went to Landon's meet the teacher that night...his teacher is so sweet and this is her first year teaching! (I remember those days!)
Reagan wound up leaving Longwood with my mom for a sleepover and got to meet JJ at Outback for dinner!
On Thursday we picked up Reagan and headed to the Philadelphia Zoo! My brother got us free tickets from work, and who am I to pass down something free?! Landon has never been, so he was excited! The weather was beautiful!
stopping for lunch at a picnic table in the shade
Reagan wanted a picture with the swan in the background to match the swan design on her face
We had such a fun day!! By 1:30 the littlest lady (well all 3 of them!) were beyond ready to go!! Thanks again for the tickets Uncle Mike!
This one destroyed the pantry! ...she looks pretty proud of herself too!
