On November 20th we had a VERY fun day in NYC! Reagan was so sad to miss school...ha! It was a perfect day for a trip to the city, which started VERY early in the morning.
The night before Keith had a work dinner in Philadelphia that spouses were to come to, so Diane came over to watch the kids and we went to that. We could have seen the show Matilda, but we would have been out WAY past this momma's bedtime, so we passed on that and came home. Wake up time the next morning was 4:30am!
We met my dad that morning around 6:30 and he drove all the girls in our van. After Lincoln Tunnel traffic, we finally got into the city about 9:30 to start our day!
We ran over to the Today Show to see if we'd see Kathie Lee and Hoda, but to our surprise, Savannah and Willie were covering breaking news. It was so fun to see them pretty close up. I just love me some Today Show. We were going to go to the show, but we would have had to leave SO much earlier, so we decided to do that another time!
Just me and my best morning pals
We ran into the American Girl Store to set up appointments for "Elizabeth" to get her hair done and ears pierced. Reagan has been talking about this forever!! They don't do reservations until the day of for those services, so thankfully we were able to head over there to get those appointments :) Someone was just SLIGHTLY excited!
We had 11:00 tickets to see the Rockettes!! Our seats were AWESOME!! It was such a great show, as always. I just try to take it all in while I'm there because I just love it so much and it's such a great start to the Christmas season!
We were right next to the organ!
And we were this close to the stage...no zoom! I love the live orchestra throughout the show.
One of Reagan's favorite scenes, the Nutcracker with dancing bears :)
I love the Christmas in New York scene
And another of R's favs...SO many Santas!
And the most beautiful one, the live nativity! So incredible!!
After the show, it was time for Reagan and I to head back to the American Girl Store for the appointments.
She wasn't excited or anything!!
Watching her hair get all prettied!
The finished product, a sweetheart braid with pierced ears!
We had a little time to walk around and check everything out before our lunch reservations at 2:30 in the Cafe! A little girl's dream come true!!
Of course they have a little chair for your doll!
This girl loved our "wine" glasses :)
So precious!
It was such a fun and special day with my big girl! We had so much fun! By the time lunch was over, we met back up with everyone and it was time to head home. Reagan had been up since about 4:15am and was exhausted! We put her jammies on in the car and she fell asleep in the car at about 5:30pm and didn't get up until after 6 the next morning :)
