Thanksgiving week started with Landon Man's conference on Monday morning. Miss Heidi is such a sweet teacher...we just LOVE her! She could not have said anything better about how L is doing in school...we are so proud of him. He is pretty much night and day compared to last year. She thinks he is SO ready for kindergarten (sniff!) and said he is a leader in the classroom. Way to go Landon!! We obviously had to celebrate with a donut :)
That night Keith and I had our hospital tour, since this is the first baby we'll have had in the DE state. It was special...and brought back all kinds of "memories" of delivering R and L. My mom and John came over to watch the kids and spent the night because the next morning was Special Friends Day (aka Grandparents Day) at Reagan's school. My mom, John, and my dad were able to go to see Reagan's precious class put on a whole little Thanksgiving production. I got a sneak peak one day while I was volunteering and it was just too cute! Reagan got to come home with Mum-Mum and Pop-Pop after that and then I subbed that afternoon.
Wednesday was serious prep day! I had added pressure to make the Kearns family chesnut dressing this year...I've never made it and my dad was pretty much the only one who even ate it, but I didn't want it to be awful. My kitchen was a disaster, but it all smelled so good!
Gigi and Mop arrived Wednesday afternoon and the kids were so excited! Last year they got the kids gingerbread houses and we never did them, so they couldn't wait to work on them with Gigi and Mop! They literally walked in the door and were put to work :)
The kids did a great job and they turned out so cute! We were going to go out to dinner, but then I just really wasn't feeling it...or the kids...so we picked up some take out from Cantwells and just ate at home!
The moon was amazing!!
Reagan made sure our white board was festive!
After dinner we did some snuggling and watched Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!! THIRTY, 30, yes 30 weeks pregnant on Thanksgiving Day!!
The bird about to go in!! YUM!!
The was after everyone had already gotten their plates of food...seriously, do you see all of that!?
The kids sat in the dining room with us and Reagan decorated the table. She was too cute!
We ate at about 2:45, which was earlier than expected, surprisingly, but it worked out because Mike had to get to work by 5. So glad he could be with us!
We ate and ate and ate...cleaned up, played some Thanksgiving Trivia (which is Reagan's favorite part of Thanksgiving), had dessert, tried to calm the kids down a little bit, and Reagan even put on a production for us of her songs from Special Friends Day!
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving and we have SO much to be thankful for!! It's hard to believe that next Thanksgiving we'll have a little lady at the table with us, probably old enough to be munching on some turkey and mashed potatoes herself!
