Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Halloween 2010 was a success!  We started the festivities yesterday with pumpkin carving...

Ummm...standing on the chair?  This is the newest trick!

Such a good helper!

On Saturday night Keith and Darin got all pretty for a Halloween party!  We were babysitter-less, SO the boys got to go :)  Can you tell they were Germans?!  (Thanks for the outfits Gran and Gramps!)

This morning we made a Halloween cake, Reagan LOVED mixing!

Morgan (aka "Mo-Mo) was here to help!

We had a pre-trick or treating dinner with the Mills!  We had Brunswick Stew, mummy hot dogs, and Halloween mac n' cheese.  Reags got a hold of Keith's lovely hat!

The cutest pumpkin we've ever seen!  Poor Bailey :)

The cutest kitty cat we've ever seen!

Please tell me the angle of this picture is terrible?  The Kepplinger Crew :)

Reags was a trooper!  She said "treat" to get her candy and loved putting it into her pumpkin!!

Our candy passer outers :)

Enjoying her first lollipop!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is November already!  Hope you had a Happy Halloween :)

Love a Three Day Weekend!

The past couple days have been so much fun!  Since Thursday was my "Friday" this week, it really helped make it an even better day!  Thursday was our 4th anniversary...so crazy to think that it has been 4 years already!

Thursday morning Halloween outfit!

Pretty anniversary flowers!  4 years traditional gift is fruit or flowers.
I got pretty flowers...

And Keith got fruit!  (chocolate dipped fruit truffles from Edible Arrangments...very tastey!)

Gran and Gramps were here to watch Reagan for us...(THANK YOU!)

...so that Mommy and Daddy could go out to dinner!

We went to Cafe Luna downtown and had a very yummy dinner!  After dinner we walked to a bar to watch the State game.  Thankfully they won, which Keith said was an awesome anniversary gift!

Friday morning we were up and at 'em with Gran and Gramps.  We went out to breakfast a Mimi's Cafe, yum!

Checking out the trucks on the side of the road

Reagan LOVING being held for a picture with Gigi and G-Gramps

Shopping at Target :)

We had a playdate with Liam on Friday too!  Reags and Liam had SO much fun together.  Wore her out and took a nice little nap when we got home :)

Big kids eating lunch at the table!

We rounded out our Friday night playing outside and watching a nice relaxing, episode of Dora, aka Duh-duh-duh.  I mean, does this child live a stressed life or what?!

Have a great weekend!

Countdown!

It's Halloween countdown, end of the week countdown, just a day to count until our fourth anniversary, and the Friday Night Lights premiere tonight!  Have I mentioned that I love having things to look forward to?!?  Gran and Gramps are coming tomorrow afternoon and are going to keep Reags for us so we can go out to dinner for our anniversary (yes, all the way from Maryland...they are too good to us!) and then I'm HOME on Friday!!  Yahoo!!  Other great news we booked our trip to St. Louis for January today to visit the Johnsons AND GET THIS....Reaggie went pee-pee on the potty tonight!!  NO JOKE!  Before her bath I put her on the potty just to see if she would, and seconds later she went.  I was screaming with excitement...we were so proud!!

This past Sunday Reagan was sporting her adorable shirt from Aunt Ellen!  Seriously, how stinkin' cute!?  Thank you Auntie Elle!!

Anytime you take a picture these days, Reagan wants you to show it to her right away on the camera.  SO lately that has caused for LOTS of pictures with her running to me just to see her picture...lovely!

Reagan was "helping" Keith with yard work and shortly after fell in a muddy section of the grass and needed her lovely shirt soaked in Shout!

Fascinated with my lovely slip on shoes

Yes, Reagan can now climb up on the sofa ALL by herself!  She loves to take a little toy up (or the remote) and relax!

Look at that face...crazy girl!  Wearing another Halloween shirt :)

This just makes me laugh...we got a toy catalog in the mail yesterday and Reagan LOVES looking through them.  She just plopped in her chair, with her water close by, and looked at all the toys.  She is already making her list to Santa ;)

Just being cute!

Laying down with her baby and blanky...she LOVES LOVES LOVES that fancy Walgreens baby doll

In the words of Reaggie, "ni, ni"

Saturday Highlights

The weekends are just always so great...seriously, I HEART weekends! :)  Saturday morning we went to Keith's soccer game...he just has a couple more left of the season.  Reagan had LOTS of fun...she made friends with two other kiddos there and they occupied their time putting rocks into the top of an orange traffic cone, too cute.  They would run up and down a hill to get rocks and put them in the cone...exciting huh!? :)  We spent the rest of the day running errands, hanging out, and playing!  (...My camera battery came in the mail Saturday afternoon (thanks Mom!) which was accidentally taken to PA when my mom and John left, SO I didn't get pictures at the game.)

Well...she told us she wanted her shirt off, then it was pants, diaper, and socks! :)

Apple Cake Delicious-ness!

Last Wednesday while Gran, Gramps, and my mom were here, we made a yummy dinner and had to have a little dessert to go with it.  A neighbor of ours gave me this recipe last year and I had yet to try it.  (She actually made it for our Christmas party.)  After eating a rather large slice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...I thought I should share this yummy fall-ish recipe! :)

(clearly not my picture, but the closest I could find online!)

Apple Cake

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice (I used nutmeg)
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup oil
2 beaten eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups chopped, peeled apples (about 3 large apples)
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted (optional)
2 teaspoons finely shredded lemon peel
sifted powdered sugar

1.  Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and allspice; set aside.
2.  In a mixing bowl combine sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla.  Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.  Add dry mixture and beat on low speed just until combined.  (It is a VERY thick batter, I had to mix the last bit by hand)  Fold in apples, pecans, and lemon peel.
3.  Pour batter into greased bundt pan.  Bake at 350* for an hour or until toothpick comes out clean.  Cool for 10 minutes on wire rack and then remove from pan.  Cool thoroughly on wire rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Enjoy!

B-U-S-Y!!

This past week has FLOWN!  Keith was home with Reagan on Monday and that was the same day that Gran and Gramps flew in and Heinz left...Keith was a taxi driver on his day off! :)  Since Monday our week has been packed with stuffy noses (for ALL of us!), visiting with family, and just being BUSY!!

Gigi reading Reagan her "Corduroy's Halloween" book from Aunt Di!  Thank you!!  She LOVES it!  We have read this book about 1,000 times this past week :)

Gramps listening intently!

Wednesday was the day we picked up my mom from the airport, so we stopped for some breakfast at Bob Evans on the way! :)

Again reading Corduroy, now with Mum-Mum

Peek-a-boo!

The weather this past weekend could not have been prettier!  It was perfect, not a cloud in the sky and low 70's.  On Saturday, after Reagan decided she needed NO nap?!, we went to Hill Ridge Farms again.  We went last year and obviously Reagan was too little to really "do" anything, so this year was a LOT more exciting!

This family shot sums up how Reags was feeling without a nap... :)

Reagan loved the little sand area...threw a fit when we left...

Reagan loved the tee-pee....threw a fit when we left...

Reagan loved the Hay Tunnel...threw a fit when we left...

She loved the hayride too...can you tell?! :)

We'll cut her some slack because she has had another cold and a VERY runny, stuffy nose...and she's just pretty darn cute!

Reagan did LOVE the pumpkins though!  She got to pick out one for each of us!

So strong!

After we got home from our Saturday adventure, Keith and I went OUT!  We had a little date night and Reagan got to go to bed a little early thanks to Mum-Mum and Pop-Pop! :)

Sunday we were up and at 'em and off to the NC State Fair!  It was so fun!  We enjoyed lots of food; deep fried snickers, deep fried pb&j,  bbq, chili, turkey legs, kettle corn, ice cream, hot dogs, cheesesteaks...seriously, you name it, we probably ate it!

Reagan was lovin' some ice cream!

Time to leave, holding hands with Daddy!

When we got home it was about an hour and half past Reagan's "normal" naptime...she has been in this funky napping pattern where she will only sleep for an hour and then wants to be rocked the rest of the time...lovely right?!  (except at Miss Wendy's...she sleeps for 3 1/2 hours there!)  ANYWAY...she took a GREAT nap today!  She was in hog heaven playing with her new Dora blow up toy that Pop-Pop bought her at the fair.  She wouldn't put it down!

So that's been our week in a nutshell...my mom and John are here until Wednesday and Miss Wendy will be back from Disney by then!  Time for my weekly statement though...."why do the weekends always go so fast?!?" :)
