Rehoboth Beach 2011

"Wishing I was (still) knee deep in the water somewhere got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair..."

On Thursday we left for our first family vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  We had so much fun and were so fortunate to stay at my Grandpa's condo.  It is right across from the beach and we got to listen to the waves all day and all night...glorious!  Reagan LOVED being able to see the ocean and could not wait to get her feet in the sand!

Our trip started with a smooth car ride, as I was pretty anxious about it.  Both kiddos did great and Landon slept pretty much the entire time!  When we got to the condo we unpacked and then went to dinner with my mom and John.  They got a hotel and were there the whole time we were too!  We went down to the boardwalk and got some Grotto's pizza for dinner and let Reagan walk on the beach and feel the ocean...the girl was in heaven! :)

Friday morning we were up and at 'em to get ready for our first beach day.  Mom and John brought donuts over and then it was off to the beach!  Reagan was a sandy, sandy mess, but had SO much fun!  The girl has NO fear of the ocean and the waves were pretty rough.  There was not a lot of beach at all since the hurricane the weekend before.  The tide did reach our chair several times and we had to keep moving back until we were pretty much on the dunes.  :)  Friday night we went to Jake's for dinner, which is always delish!  Reagan opted out of a nap that afternoon, so we didn't last out and about too long and Landon man was a little fussy too...it happens!

our view from the condo...can't beat that!

I think Reags will have sand in her hair for another week!

Saturday morning we were off to the beach again!  During nap time Keith stayed with the kiddos and I stayed on the beach...I have to say it was pretty fantastic.  I almost felt antsy though...just sitting.  It was nice though!  Reagan took a good nap and we were off to Funland for the rides and games on the boardwalk.  She had so much fun we could hardly stand it!  She won lots of prizes (lovely stuffed animals) on from the games and got a kick out of beating me at the water gun game.  :)  We went to the Summer House for dinner and had a GREAT dinner!  It was delicious...Landon was jealous though and wanted his dinner too, so he and I made a trip to the car.  (I have never nursed so much in a car before...we have it down to a science now!  ha!)

flying the kite she and Pop-Pop picked out!

On Sunday morning my dad, Diane, and Jamie came to the beach.  We were so excited to see them too!  They hadn't met Landon yet, so we met them on the boardwalk and then went to Jake's for lunch.  Keith stayed with the kids again during nap time (such a good Daddy) so that we could all walk around downtown.  We were on a sweatshirt mission!  We walked around a lot, got ice cream, and then met Keith with Landon and Reagan at the rides again.  Reagan tried some different rides and did some of the same ones and had a BLAST!!  We decided to take take out from Five Guys/Nicola's and take it back to the condo.  That worked out perfectly!  We had a fun night hanging out and then the "PA crew" had to head on back.

Our last full day was on Monday and we had another day on the beach.  My mom stayed with Landon up in the condo (thank you Mum-Mum!) so we had full attention for Reagan.  She was running into that ocean like she owned it.  It made us a little nervous, but she never got too far in.  Her trick of the day was running from our spot down to one of us in the ocean waiting for her...she probably ran five miles doing that over and over and over again!  We went back to the condo at lunch and Reagan took a great  nap.  We went to an early dinner at Big Fish, which was also so GOOD, and then had one last hoorah at the rides and on the boardwalk.  It was sad that our trip was coming to an end.

Tuesday morning we got all packed up and headed home...it was a rainy, yucky day which made it a little easier to come home in.  If it had been beautiful we wouldn't have wanted to leave!

Overall it was such a great trip with so many memories!  Reagan's excitement about everything made it so much fun! :)  She came up to Keith and I seperately over the course of our trip and said "thank you so much for bringing me to the beach."  It melted our hearts!  We are already looking forward to another fun trip to Rehoboth next summer...where we will be chasing two kids into the ocean! :)
